About Us
Happy Hoops is an after school Basketball camp for boys and girls of all skill levels in the Bartram Springs Community. We currently offer practice sessions twice a week for School children from 2nd* grade through to and including 6th grade over an 8 week period.Â
*If your child is strong enough to make a basket on a 10 foot high hoop but is not yet in the 2nd grade then he or she is welcome to participate in Happy Hoops.
Happy Hoops Fall Season
What is it: 8 week after school basketball camp
When: September 17th to November 7th, 2024
Where: Bartram Springs Basketball Courts (Outside)
Time: Tuesdays and Thursdays 5pm to 6pm
Pricing: $198 (16 Sessions) or $110 (8 sessions)
Head Coach Brendan Clowry, is a former Division 1 College Basketball Player and Coach bringing 10 years of coaching experience at both the NCAA Division I and II level. Additionally, Brendan boasts professional playing experience overseas and he has also represented his native country, Australia at the World University Games (Team Captain) and the Junior World Championships. Moreover, Brendan has coached Nike Kids Basketball Camps, Hoop Mountain High Academic Basketball Camps, Team Camps and Elite Camps at UC San Diego, Wootten Basketball Camps in Maryland and Washington D.C as well as Aussie Hoops Camps and Anthony Stewart Basketball Camps at elementary schools in Australia.
Before Happy Hoops, Clowry was an assistant coach with the UC San Diego men's basketball team from 2014 to 2021. As an assistant coach, he helped build a program that progressed to 5 consecutive NCAA D2 National Tournaments (2016 to 2020), achieving 2 sweet 16 berths, 3 regular season CCAA championships (2017, 2019, 2020) and an exceptional 4 consecutive CCAA conference tournament Championships (2017 to 2020). Prior to joining the Big West and NCAA Division 1 basketball, UCSD capped off a near-perfect 30-1 season and finished the year as the 4th ranked team in the nation.
Prior to UCSD, Clowry was an Assistant Coach at Point Loma Nazarene University, contributing to a 20-11 record and an NCCAA national championship in 2013-14. His college coaching career began in the 2012-13 season, serving as video coordinator at the University of San Diego.
His coaching journey extended globally to the Egypt British International School and Cairo American College. Notably, he was Athletic Director and Head of Physical Education at the Egypt British International School (2010-2012), fostering holistic sports education.
Clowry's influence spans international camps and coaching in Australia, Egypt and the US. As a player, he excelled at Gardner-Webb University, captaining the team and earning MVP honors during his senior season.
His professional playing career included stints in Australia's NBL1 and NBL for the Cairns Taipans and Canberra Cannons and Egypt . Notably, he contributed to Maadi's Egyptian National Basketball League runner-up finish in 2012 and Sutherland's Waratah League titles in 2007 and 2008.
